My First Mother's Day at the Flower Fields

Today was a great day! I had a whole day of being spoiled :) We were surrounded by beautiful flowers and beautiful Mothers with a cool ocean breeze and sun on our backs.  My first Mother's Day was just beautiful down in Carlsbad at the Flower Fields.  We celebrated all the Momas with Grandma Marpert, Uncle Eric, Auntie Hilary, Grandma & Grandpa Egge, Uncle Daniel, Auntie Amber and Amelia.  We were only missing our lovely Laura & Fam in our celebration (Happy Mother's Day!!xoxo).  After the flower fields we grabbed some pizza at Pizza Port in downtown Carlsbad...love that place.  Addie was happy all day long, making the day perfect!  Gave Grandma Marpert a brag book of all the pictures of her being a grandma so far.  Gave Grandma Egge a Grandma's Cuddle Blanket and family photos.  She was also so surprised by the cousin photos we took that she cried!  Haven't seen her cry like that since we told her we were pregnant with Addie & Amber with Amelia!

The Babies didn't care too much about the flowers, more about their naps, but when they smelled food they sure enjoyed Pizza Port!

A Baby's Life @ 3mo

You know it's the simple things that make my day at this point in my life.  Like watching Addie play, hearing her laugh for the first time, cuddle time, walks with Marta & Lucas, getting a work out in, and cleaning parts of the house (dare I say the whole? I have to do it in 1/2hr spirts, give me a break! haha) I'm so thankful for my hubby that works hard to "bring home the bacon" so I can stay home this long and enjoy these things.  So, here's to messing around with my camera on a typical day in the Egge house...

Derby day + Clif's 60th

Happy birthday Grandpa! Congrats on turning the big 6-0. To celebrate everyone put on their hats and went to the Kentucky Derby (well as close as we could get, Santa Anita Racetrack).
Little But Lucky helped Grandpa Egge win big on an early race.  Grandma Marpert had luck on her side and picked 4 winners out of the 9 races she bet.  The favorite for the Kentucky Derby, California Chrome, smoked the field. We'll see if he can keep it together to win the Triple Crown.

Everyone had a great time despite the heat!

3 months old!

Well Addie is now 3 months old.  I can't believe it's already been that long! Oh and breaking news! Addie rolled for the first time on Tuesday 4/29. She went for a 3 month check up and when the doctor put her in her belly for tummy time, Addie rolled right over! It was funny because I think it surprised us all including Addie! She cried right after :/ Here's a recap of her development:

Height:
Weight: 13.9lbs
Percentile: 75th... growing great!
Clothes size: between 6months and 9 month outfits eek!
Allergy: peanuts most likely?? Still trying to figure it out or maybe cows milk. Doc days she'll likely grow out of it.
Tummy time: likes it best when there's a book in front of her or a toy.
Rolled over: 1x at doctor's office
Sleep routine: gets crabby at 6:45, bath time at 7:15/7:30 (loves it!), eats and then asleep by 8 pm. Usually wakes up around 2am, then sometimes 4am and up at 7 am.
Naps: she takes a nap at 9:30-10:30ish and usually one at 1pm-3:30ish. Sometimes it's a battle to get her to nap in the crib.
Play time: loves to swing and bounce while hitting things.  She favors her left side (maybe a lefty??). Has strong neck muscles, good head control, but doesn't sit up without assistance. Loves to smile, coo, and kick when you laugh or make silly faces at her.  She lights up when she sees Daddy and finds comfort with Mommy.
