A Grammy's Glimpse: Thanksgiving at Uncle Jeff's Cabin (part 1)

We went up to Uncle Jeff's Cabin in Yosemite for Thanksgiving this year. We loaded the kids in the car and drove about 7 hrs up on Wednesday. Andrew was great...slept practically the whole time. Addie did well too. We braced for the worst and the only excitement was Addie says, "Momma Potty!" So we get off on the next exit...hurry in...and "Sorry Momma Poo Poo too hard." :( Then back on the road we went. We make it up to the cabin around 5pm and Great Grandma Charleston swooped up Andrew and met her youngest GrGrandbaby for the first time. Andrew also met Uncle Stuart, Uncle Jeff, her cousins Gage and Devon. Addie and Gage instantly clicked and played together all night, dancing and wrestling in the cabin. Andrea and her family came to the cabin the first night too. Addie first wanted Gage to sleep in his sleeping bag next to her, then Mia. Haha it was one giant slumber party.

Thanksgiving was tons of fun. All the kiddie cousins rode on Uncle Jeff's "Swing", made a bond fire, rode the ATV, played chase, played, played and played more. All of Great Grandma Charleston's children, their children and their children came and joined. We ate traditional Thanksgiving dinner outside because the weather was perfect! Sunny & slightly chilly.

We rented another cabin with the Egge's to stay in the next two nights so we would all fit. On Friday we took a trip the the Giant Sequoia trees and enjoyed the cabin life with games, hikes, and hot coco.
Saturday we got out just in time because a storm was on it's way bringing 2ft (at least) of snow by 2pm. We made it down to the Getty Center when we hit the stormy downpour.
