Train Show & Pretend City

Yesterday Nana & I took the kids on the Metrolink into Union Station in LA to check out a train show they had going.  We made it into Union Station around 10, went to Olivera Street to check out the street vendors and then went to the show at 12.  There was an old engine which was the star of the show.  We waited in a really long line to check it out.  It was neat to see, we then decided to take the 2:oopm train back to Orange County.  While waiting in the heat for our late departing train,  Andrew barfed all over the stroller, my backpack, and himself :( We had to switch trains before we even boarded and we then waited another 1/2 hr before we even left the station.  We get to the first stop and the engine dies, so we are stranded at the Commerce Station for an hr before another train comes to tow us BACK to Union Station :( Wrong direction people!  Once back at Union Station we have to unload and reload into the 4:40pm train.  This is one is now delayed too, we don't leave Union until about 5:15pm.  We make it to the second stop and THIS train dies!  We are now hungry, tired, kids are crazy and frankly really cranky.  We finally make it back to union by 6:45pm.   Only took us 5 hours to get home.  BLEH!

Thursday we met up Marta, Lucas and Nicolas at Pretend City. The kids had a blast pretending to be Trader Joe's workers, Dentists, painters, and Gardeners.

Friday we met our friend Bre, Harleigh and little baby Houston at their splash pad and pool.  Addie got her knees stuck in the poles on the bridge of the play structure.  I had to use globs of sunscreen as grease to free her. Crazy kid!
