Maui vacation

We’re on a trip to Maui, Hawaii with both kiddos. They did well on the plane and couldn’t wait to get in the pool the first day. We’re staying in Ka’anapoli at the Westin Oceanresort Villas. It is beautiful we have seen multiple rainbows all around our hotel each day. The kids are enjoying the beach and snorkeling for Steven. Today we went to Baby beach in Lahaina after going to the grocery store. There were fish swimming around that Andrew could see as he played. After the kids nap we were going to check out the other pools in the hotel but ended up sitting out on the beach and watching the last sunset of 2018.  Tonight is Years Eve. Highlights from today include watching whales breach from our balcony, watching lanterns float into the sky after the kids went to bed, and playing with both kids in the water watching fishes.

Tuesday is New Years. We woke up early(since we would be up early anyway with Andrew) and drove the Road to Hana. We were expecting it to be crowded and take forever because that’s what everyone said when we researched it. Maybe because it was New Years and we left early we hit no traffic and only started to get crowded when we were ready to leave. We saw many many waterfalls, crossed one way bridges, went through a bamboo forest, hiked to Twin Falls, Black Sand Beach and ended in Hana.  The views are amazing along the drive and I think the kids favorite part was all the mud they got to splash and hike in.  Andrew even at one point ran down a hill and fell forward and slid the rest of the hill through mud. He stood up with a muddy face and shirt. We loved the black sand beach it was stunning. We hiked up the side where the waves shot up the side of the cliff and Andrew kept saying how it was raining. On the way back we stopped by Walmart and picked up some supplies.  We went out. To our beach to watch and play in the sunset after walking around the resort to check out all the pools.
