Andrew's First Day of Preschool

Andrew started Preschool at Lutheran Church of the Cross this week!  He is soooo ready and totally comfortable.  Steven walked into the class with him (while other kids are teary) he goes straight to sit in circle time and asks Steven, "Why are you still here?'  We'll then 3 year old, going on 15!  He is in a Mon/Wed/Fri class with Ms Terry and on Tues/Thurs his teacher is Ms. Susan.  He gets to be in the same class as his friend Nicholas from our neighborhood (Sophia's lil brother) on Mon/Wed/Fri and they played cars together today.

Great Grandma Charleston celebration

Jo Ann Charleston was celebrated this weekend in a place that we all hold near and dear to our hearts. Uncle Jeff’s cabin, has at least for me, been a gathering place of the Charleston’s and Egge’s to have fun bonding over campfires, 4x4’s, snow, one bathroom that flushes occasionally, swings that might kill you and many many family stories.  I’m sure it means more to each person that has been there.  Jo Ann had a beautiful talent of artistic rendering in any medium that drew people to her.  She spread her talent to strangers and family alike. One of my favorite memories of her is that she sat in Addison’s little kiddie chair when Addie was close to 2 and painted with her.  She shared Addison’s little 8 color watercolor set that all the colors were already merged together, and painted Addison’s portrait.  It was amazing and I wish it was painted in paint that won’t fade but I took a picture of it.  Addison looked up to her and always wanted to be an artist like Gr Granma.
Jo Ann also shared many hilarious stories around the campfire to share. She shared stories of family, growing up, raising children and growing old.  She was a strong, independent, loving and creative blessing in my life. We know she is out there painting the clouds looking out for us in heaven.  We will see you again. Here are parts of your legacy:
