We quick booked a night in Palm Springs and went to the Living Desert Zoo. We loved it. I only expected to stay there a few hours, we stayed 5 and through the rain. The kids got to feed and pet a camel, get really up close to 9 giraffes, laugh hysterically at the cranky warthogs fighting over their den, go inside the cage of two big Turkey Vultures, dig for dinosaur bones, walk through a miniature train land bigger than Fairplex and watch a cheetah eat a steak. It did start to rain but we were clothed for it, so we stayed and enjoyed the zoo as people disappeared.
