Today we went on a little road trip. First stop was the Kauai Coffee Plantation. This whole trip, every time you say, "Cheese," as in smile for the camera to Addie, she would respond with, "Cheese BOWL." Why? No one knows but it's really annoying when trying to capture a smile. So, every time you see her mouth in a 0, she was saying Cheese Bowl. The plantation was hot, sunny and humid. Cool to see yes but not quite the hot coffee tasting atmosphere you would prefer. After that, we headed up the Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. There we saw our first waterfalls of the trip.
One of my favorite memories is Addie and I were swimming in the lagoon and we spotted a mermaid. Literally a mermaid (no not Ariel, but a girl with a swim suit material mermaid fin and bikini top). Addie was speechless because she thought it was LITERALLY A MERMAID! She followed the 12ish year old girl everywhere. Addie even thought two other girls who were swimming later were mermaids also. It was so adorable and hilarious to see her so excited to see mermaids.

We savored our last night at the Hyatt before heading north, listened to local music and Addie colored. A lady came up to me and told me how "well behaved my kids were, how her 3 boys would NEVER do what we were able to do" I guess she saw us a couple of times at breakfast, at the pool and dinner time.
Ending the night watching the snails and frogs.
