Monterey bay aquarium day 2

Today we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We saw the sea otters get fed because my kids this they are the best thing ever since seeing them last night out of the jetty. We loved the jellyfish exhibit too. It’s amazing how iridescent jellyfish are until you see them up against a blue screen with lights. I think the coolest thing was to see the “deep ocean” fish get fed.  From big Tuna, hammerhead sharks, Mahi Mahi, sting rays, Sun fish and the school of sardines. Interesting that the Mahi Mahi live in the same tank as the school of sardines, their breakfast! So we got to see Mahi Mahi get exited when the school of sardines came up to the surface to eat, the Mahi Mahi actually changed colors when they got exited!

After the aquarium we rode the free trolly! Andrew was beyond excited and forgot about how crazy he was acting. But then, we forgot to pull the pull down string for our hotel and ended up going to fisherman’s wharf. We decided to check it out since we ended up there and found a Trader Joe’s to buy some dinner and breakfast. Win win!

We went out to the beach right by our hotel and the kids befriended a guy and his dog that caught frisbees. Now here’s the thing, the dog was playing catch with the frisbee but somehow the dog got my children to play catch with the frisbee, how did that work? I dunno, but there were two children and.a dog chasing after a frisbee and it usually ended up with Andrew yelling, “I got it!”  Then dog and children dug holes together.   I’m beginning to think I should have brought along some friends for them.

We ate dinner out at the balcony of our hotel and swam in the spa.  The kids and (and likely the dog) passed out the second they hit their beds. I have more photos on my big camera to upload later.
